Social Canteen - Food Emergency Program   (PEA)

It is a social response created under the Food Emergency Program (PEA). It emerged as a way to respond to the primary food need of families in a situation of greater social and economic vulnerability. Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Mesão Frio appears as a social partner of the Solidarity Network of Social Canteens, currently having a response capacity for 100 people.

Access to this social response depends on signaling the socio-familial and economic conditions of risk groups, as well as the aggregation of all relevant information for their inclusion in the aforementioned response.

Access conditions:

  • Elderly people in isolation and on low incomes;

  • Families exposed to the phenomenon of unemployment;

  • Families with a high number of dependents;

  • People with disabilities and difficulties in integrating into the labor market;

  • Families with low income, support or subsidies and who have fixed housing and education costs;

Cannot benefit from this support:

  • Users of the institution who already benefit from a meal under the frequency of any other social response in which they are inserted;

  • Individuals who are supported by any other means of support at the food level (eg, food bank, among others)

SERVICES PROVIDED

In this valence, the services of confection and provision of meals for consumption at home are provided by delivery in a proper container.

In exceptional cases, the consumption of the meal may be made available on the Institution's premises.

OPENING HOURS

The Cantina Social service works every day, including holidays and weekends.

Tuesdays 09.30h to 12.30h (except holidays)
